LAND TAKEN I'OR EXTENSION CLAIM FOR COMPENSATION lliv Tpleurnoh-I’resii Apovifillnn' NEW PLYMOUTH. 15th November. The compulsory acquisition under the Public Works Ad of land for the extension of the New Plymouth airport was the subject of proceedings in the Supreme Court to-day. when the previous owner, Mrs R. L. Barclay. Waitara. claimed from the New Plymouth Borough Council £12.018 as compensation for all loss arising out of the land being taken and its severance from a farm. The claim comprised £8314 as the value, at £75 an acre, of 109 acres taken, with buildings and improvements. and £3703. as the value of the remaining 183 acres injuriously affected by the severance. The evidence will be continued tomorrow.
