BROMWICH WINS CHAMPIONSHIP QUJST DEFEATED IN FINAL [United Press Association —D.y Electric Telegraph—Copy right 1 SYDNEY, ,14th November. In the New South Wales State tennis championships, J. Bromwich, by beating Quist by three sets to two, won the men's singles championship. 4-6, 6-4, 6- 2-6, 7-5. The women’s singles championship was won by Miss N. Wynne, Victoria, who beat Miss T. Coyne, 6-3, 7The men’s singles match was more notable for its changing fortunes than for any consistent excellence. Actually, there was little between Quist and Bromwich, and probably two “net cords” in the fifth set turned the. tide in Bromwich’s favour when he seemed likely to be beaten. In the final of the men's doubles championship, Crawford and McGrath beat Bromwich and A. Huxley. 3-6, 6-3. 6-4. 6-4. In the women's doubles, Mrs Hopman and Miss Coyne beat Misses N. Wynne and D Stevenson. 10-8. 3-6, 6-3.
