The mysterious disappearance of the body of Princess Maria Christina, the great-grandmother of the King ot' Italy, has baffled the authorities. She died at Vienna in 1852 and was buried in a local cemetery, and exhumed the same .year. The place of reburial is unknown. The Chown Prince Umberto recently asked the Austrian authorities to search for the body and a special commission viisted all likely places without success. The search has been abandoned
