BOARD OF TRADE RETURNS
PRINCIPAL INCREASES AND DECREASES (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph-Copy rigbtl LONDON, 14th November. Board of Trade returns for October arc as follows: Imports £96,085,000, exports £47,216,000, re-exports’ £5,698.000. The principal increases, compared with October last year arc: Imports: Grain and flour £1,121,000; meat £1,161,000; dairy produce £1,039,000; fresh fruit and vegetables £1,069,000; non-ferrous ores and scrap £785,000; wood and timber £1,751,000; wool raw and waste £914,000; rubber £906,000; iron and steel manufactures £l,381.000; non-ferrous metals £1,626,000. Exports: Coal £983,000; iron and steel manufactures £1,144,000; non-fer-rous metals manufactures £923,000; machinery £1.060,000. Re-exports: Non-ferrous metals manufactures £935.000. Decreases, exports: Wool raw and waste £253.000. BRITISH FIGURES INCREASE [British Official Wireless] RUGBY, 13th November. A further large expansion of overseas trade is revealed in the Board of Trade returns for October. Imports amounted to £96,085,427, exports to £47.216,048. and re-exports to £5.698,531. Twelve months ago imports were valued at £80,531.920, exports at £41,764,413, and re-exports at £4,560,180. For the 10 months of 1937 imports, totalling £837,940,598, represent an increase of £149,831,635 on the previous year. Exports totalled £432.858,531, which is an increase of £71,072,519 on 1936. Re-exports, at £65.021,748, show an increase of £14,752,075.
