THE WEATHER

FAIR AND WARM Tile weather is predicted to be mainly fair and warm, but with some showers in tiie western area and the ranges. Although there has been a good deal of cloud about during the last two days there have been only very light breezes and this has resulted in a hot summer week-end being experiened. Th sun shone for only 5 hours 10 minutes on Saturday but the temperature rose to 71.1 degrees, and on Sunday the maximum temperature was 72.6 degrees, 6 hours of sunshine being recorded. A few drops of rain fell last evening but no further rain eventuated. The barometer fell during the week-end, the reading to-day being 29.83. After a hot night last night (the minimum temperature being 46.1 degrees) to-day was brilliantly fine and hot, with only a light movement of air. The temperature rose to 74 degrees at Redwood’s Valley yesterday. Fine weather with warm temperatures was general in the Dominion today, and only very light breezes prevailed.
