NINE POWER MEETING
NEW ZEALAND ACCEPTS INVITATION | j HIGH COMMISSIONER TO ATTEND | I B.v Telegraph Press Artxciciatl.ini WELLINGTON, This Day. The Prime Minister, Rt, lion. M. J. i Savage, announced last evening that he had received, through the British Ambassador at Brussels, an invitation from the Belgian Government that the New Zealand Government should be represented at a meeting, to be held at Brussels on 30th October, of the Powers | signatory to the Nine-Power Treaty .relating to China, signed at Washington in February, 1922. New Zealand was one of the original signatories of that treaty, and the object of the meeting is to examine, m accordance with Article 7 thereof, the situation in the Far East, and to inquire into methods of bringing the present conflict to a conclusion. The New Zealand Government had replied accepting the invitation and was arranging to be represented at Ihe meeting by the High Commissioner in London, Mr W. J. Jordan.
