RADIO AT CENTRAL SCHOOL
EACH OF EIGHT ROOMS CONNECTED AMPLIFIER FOR OUT-OF-DOORS INSTRUCTION The installation of radio equipment at Nelson Central School has now been completed and is in operation. The receiving equipment is of the best type provided by the Department for the purpose and has loud speaker extensions in each room so that the set can be used by ail classes. In addition to the wireless an amplification system has been installed with the speaker facing the assembly area in front of the building. The loud speaker system can be used for the ordinary broadcast or on a gramophone pick-up. In addition it is provided with a microphone through which the teacher can give instruction to the children either with or without the music going. Nelson Central is the first of the city schools to be fully equipped with radio.
