WOMEN’S DIVISION, FARMERS’ UNION
1 MEETING OF MOUTERE BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Moutere branch, W.D.F.U., was held at the residence of the president. Mrs Bcukc. Neudorf. There was a good attendance and two new junior members were welcomed. Mrs Beuke read her report of the Girls’ Educational Week. Two girls who attended expressed pleasure at being able to attend and have such an interesting week. The competition, "Something new from something old," was won by Mrs Marshall. A competition, “A plate of plain scones” was also won by Mrs Marshall. Next month the competitions arc to be a knitting bag and a Christmas cake. The winning cake is to be used for the birthday cake. j It has been decided to hold the birth-1 day at the end of October instead of November. Several invitations from branches to attend birthday parties, were received. Afternoon tea was served by Neudorf and Upper Moutere members. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Beuke for the use of her room.
