THINGS I!SHI' : llf. TO KNOW Stale bread is excellent for cleaning light-coloured suede gloves. A pair of sharp scissors clipped in hot water will cut up table jellies more easily than a knife. Clothes lines and pegs will not only last much longer but will collect dust less readily if they are boiled for a few minutes when they are new. If after a day's shopping or walking on heated pavements the feet are tired, nainful. or blistered, the juice of a lemon well rubbed into them will a(l'oi'd relief. Whole doves will answer the purpose of moth balks if sprinkled plentifully among clothing in drawers and boxes. In some cases they do their work even better than camphor or naphthalin. Do not soak coloured things before washing. Soap, wash, rinse, and hang them out to dry as quickly as possible. Add a tablespoonful of vinegar to bring up the colour, and do not use blue.
