FEAR OF GERMAN BOMBARDMENT PLEASANT SURPRISE FOR VALENCIA [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] (Received 24th June, 2.0 p.m.V VALENCIA, 23rd June. Thousands of citizens, apprehensive of a German bombardment, sought refuge in cellars and bomb-proof shelters last night and emerged this morning hardly able to believe their good fortune. ’ The British cargo boat Marion Moller left St. Jean de Luz for La Rochelle with 1700 refugees; l ' whom the Bilbao authorities drove aboard like sheep. Many were without food during a long and rough voyage The rebels captured Baracaldon General Davila has at his disposal 65,000 men for an attack on Santander TO RETALIATE AGAINST ATTACKS (Received 24th June, 1.20 p.m.) LONDON, 23rd June. Italian and German warships will remain in Spanish watery for the present. The Loyalist Government is determined to exercise restraint, but has taken measures to retaliate against attacks on Valencia and other loyalist ports.
