LAUNCH MISSING
FEARS FOR VESSEL’S SAFETY [By Telegraph-Press Association] AUCKLAND, 23rd June. . The launch Catherine E, containing four men and one woman, which left Russell for Rawhiti yesterday, is missing. Concern is felt for the safety of the passengers, and other launches are searching. The launch is owned by Messrs Howie and Blomfied, and on board were Mr Ti Hakaraia and his two sons and Mrs Whui Howe. There was a heavy sea when the launch left Russell earlier than usual owing to the ‘ate of the weather. The run to Rawhiti normally takes an hour and a half. It is known that the Catherine E carried no anchor. SAFE ARRIVAL AT DESTINATION AUCKLAND, 23rd June. The launch, Catherine E, which was reported from Whangarei to be missing, arrived safely at its destination at a late hour last night.
