At last evening’s meeting of the Nelson Children’s Health Camp Association, reference was made by the president (Mr H. J. Savage), to the valuable services rendered to the association by the retiring secretary, Mr S. W. Street, during his two years of office. “Mr Street has been a tower of strength to the association and his services will be very much missed,” said the president The Mayor (Mr G. L. Page) also expressed appreciation of Mr Street's work on behalf of the association. After Mr Street had suitably replied, a motion was carried accepting bis resignation with regret.
Mr K. J. Holyoake, M.P., left Motueka yesterday for Reef ton where he was to attend a luncheon tendered to His Excellency the Governor-General, Lord Galway, by the Imngahua County Council From there Mr Holyoake goes on to Karamea where he will attend several public functions and also give public addresses, as well as attend to many matters of public importance in that district. He expects to return home to Motueka on Tuesday, 29th June.
