Playing on the adjoining courts late in the evening the two New Zealanders Coombe and Stedman had comparatively easy wins in the Wimbledon tennis turnament. Andrews will meet Crawford in the second round, Coombe will meet McGrath, and Stedman will meet Nigel Sharpe. Players from twenty-seven nations are represented at the championships. The biggest feature of the day after Crawford's win against Menzel was the young South African Eede’s defeat of de Stefani, which was partly due to his robust service. Lysaght surprisingly took a set from von Cramm, l?ut once the German became familiar with the grass surface the Englishman was doomed.
