SECOND SOCCER TEST
ENGLISHMEN WIN COMFORTABLY MANY OPPORTUNITIES LOST [By Telegraph-Press Association 1 AUCKLAND, This Day. Following on an overwhelming victory in the first test at Dunedin, the English amateur Soccer team won the rubber at Carlaw Park by defeating New Zealand by 6 goals to nil in the second TeSt. The score was not fully representative of the visitors’ superiority, as there was only one team in it over the secohd half. A bright showing was made by, the Dominion side in the first spell, the local players appearing to realise that it was hopeless to compete With the finesse of the English, and adopting fast raiding tactics. The second half saw the New Zealand backs and halves crowded in their goalmouth in a desperate effort to stem the baffling raids of the opposition, but their efforts were futile against the clean, Close passing methods of the visitors.
