CRIME PHOTOGRAPHS

AN INTERESTING DISPLAY Much interest has been displayed during the last few days in a display of photographs in the windows of Messrs Buxton’s Ltd. depicting scenes from t!ie forthcoming production ‘'Distinguished Gathering” by the Nelson Repertory Club. The photographs are artistically arranged and are actual “shots” from lho play. They arc full of action, each one telis its own story, and the complete group make a display which is at once arresting and intriguing. One is struck bv a firelight study of Richard Montague (Mr V. W. Huggins), the publisher who gives the dinner to the “Distinguished Gathering” wlule a- portrait of Judith Montague (Mrs C. G. Kirk) possesses distinct charm Other studies which catch (lie eve are : The murder scene, the questioning of Blair ( Mr A. L. I residdor) by (lie police, an assault by Sir Brian llowe.t (Mr F. W. Twiss) on Major “Runtv” Pearson (Mr E. Allan), the arrest of Lesley Oesf (Miss M. Jeffreys), and the escape of C. D. Williams (Mr J. 0. Burnett), at the point of the revolver.

These arc hut a few ol a most interesting set and the exhibition is well worth a visit.
