GERMAN UNIVERSITY CELEBRATIONS
OXFORD DECLINES INVITATION [United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copy rightj LONDON, 28th April. Oxford University has withdrawn its acceptance of an invitation to the Gottingen University bicentenary celebrations. This follows the recent decision of the British University vice-chancellors who adopted the same attitude of absention from Heidleberg last year on their reluctance to associate with a University where learning was subjected to political purposes and professors dismissed on political grounds.
