£SO MISTAKEN FOR 10/-
GIVEN AS CHANGE AT DEPARTMENT STORE WOMAN CHARGED WITH THEFT [By Telegraph—Press Association] DUNEDIN, This Day. A woman aged 21 years whose name was suppressed, was charged in the Police Court With the theft of a £SO Reserve Bank note on 20th April. She was remanded till Monday for further inquiry and to enable restitution. Counsel said the girl had entered a departmental store to make a purchase ahd was handed a £SO note as change in mistake for a 10s note. She went to another shop to purchase goods and it was pointed out to her there ihat the note was of big denomination She then converted the note to her own use, Counsel pointed out the marked similarity of notes.
