MR T. M. lIINKLEY APPOINTED MANAGER [United Pret,.- Association] WELLINGTON, This Day. The appointment of Mr T. M. Hinkley as manager of the United Press Association is announced. Mr A. R. Cameron, who has been acting-man-ager since the retirement through ill health of Mr A. B. Lane has been appointed branch manager at Sydney Mr Hinkley, who was educated at the Otago Boys’ High School, Dunedin, started his journalistic career on the slaif of the “Otago Daily Times.” Dunedin. In 1924 he joined the staff of the Press Association at Wellington, and was its representative in the Parliamentary Press Gallery from 1929 i ll 1934, when he was appointed to the managership of the associati m s Sydney branch, a position he has held since that date. Mr Cameron, who was born at Dunedin and educated at the Otago Boys’ High School, joined the Press Association in 1920 In 1924 lie was transferred to the Sydney branch, where he remained till 1928. Mr Cameron then joined the reporting staff of the “Evening Star.” Dunedin and in 1933 transferred to the "Press.” Christchurch He rejoined the Press Association in 1934 and since that date has been its representative in the Parliamentary Press Gallery of which he is at present vice-chairman
