There was perfect weather and the course was in excellent order for the first day of the Oamaru' Racing Club’s meeting to-day. There was a big attendance. Results:— Trial Stakes, of £100; five furlongs. -4-4 Arrow Glen, 8.8 (Jennings), 1: 1-1 Vola Dale, 8.8, 2; 5-7 Adina, 8.8,' 3. Scratched: Lustral, Phalanx. Sailor’s Quest, Bridge Coat, Giselle. Won by two lengths and half a length. Time, 1.1 1-5. Autumn Highweight Handicap, of £110; one mile. —6-7 Heloise, 9.10 (Ridgway) 1; 1-1 Dropped Catch, 9.6 (O’Connor) 2; 3-3 Te Ahaurangi, 9.0 (Cooper) 3. All started. Won by two lengths, and one length.
