LONDON OMNIBUS DISPUTE
HOPES OF SETTLEMENT [British Official Wireless] • RUGBY, 27th April. Hopes of a settlement of the London omnibus-men’s dispute on the subject of a 7s-hour working day were considered to have improved last night after discussions in which both sides were brought together by invitation of the Ministry of Labour. The discussion lasted for about five hours and the conference then adjourned. Newspapers state that the Ministry suggested a public inquiry into all thcircumstances of the dispute.
