BUTTER TO REPLACE MARGARINE
NAVY, ARMY AND AIR FORCE AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND TO BENEFIT 'United Press Association—By Electric. Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 17th March; 10.45 a.m.) LONDON, 16th March. The Australian Associated Press has been informed that the British Government decided largely to replace margarine with butter throughout the Navy. Army and Air Force. It will be all-Empire butter. resulting in New Zealand and Australia securing large orders. Soldiers at present do not receive butter, but in future they will be given an ounce of butter and half an ounce of margarine daily, excepting on stations abroad, where it is impracticable to issue butter.
The extra food rations operating henceforth throughout the Army, including more meat and milk, will also benefit New Zealand and Australia. ■
