AWATEA ARRIVES
INTERESTING PERSONALITIES (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. Miss Jean Batten and Mrs Batten returned from Sydney by the Awatea, which arrived this morning. Flight Lieut. A. T. Nevill, who was in England as liason officer and to complete his training, also arrived to take up the post of Staff-officer to the Director of New Zealand Air Services. Another arrival was Lord Balfour of Burleigh, a director of National Bank of New Zealand. His trip is purely a business one, but he looks forward to seeing New Zealand scenery. He said that Tit Home they were watching New Zealand’s legislation with ths closest interest and sympathy.
