Mr Hepburn issued a statement alleging that the former Premier, Mr Tascherea, tried to force the Ontario Government to continue power c: ntracts with four Quebec companies by threats to stop the cfntire export ol Ontario and plunge Eastern Ontario in darkness; and also to commit sabotage by pulling plugs in the sluice gates on the Quebec side of the Chats Falls. The development of the threat was thwarted by the purchase of a frequency changer by the Hydro Commission, making all Ontario independent of the Quebec supply.
