CONCERT AND PRIZE-GIVING Owing to the closing of all schools the concert arranged for Thursday, had to be held op Tuesday evening. In spite of the short notice the Social ' Hall was crowded. Arbuckle (of the School Committee) thanked the parents and householders for their help , 1 during the past year, and comment- 1 |ed on the very excellent reports by J the inspectors, which reflected great 1 credit on the teacher, Miss. Sutton. 1 1 Mr F. A. Carling the ward member, 1 then presented the prizes. In a cheerful speech he congratulated the children on their singing and dancing, and . the teacher, and commended the committee on the way in which they have' I improved the school grounds etc. A ' ! presentation was also made to the - teacher by the children. : The singing of the National Anthem . brought a very pleasant evening to a « close. ; i ;
