LAWN TENNIS
WAIMEA ASSOCIATION ' SUCCESSFUL TOURNAMENT The Waimea .Tennis Association tournament was most successful. The senior players used the Wakefield Club’s courts and the juniors were at Brightwater. From the large entries received it appears that tennis in the Waimea Association is again coming back into favour. This tournament which usually takes place on Boxing Day, has not been very well patronised this last year or two. Naturally, the executive committee are pleased with the support received from the affiliated clubs. The interest displayed by the junior teams has been most encouraging. The junior championships and handicaps (men’s and ladies’) went to the Waimea West Club. This club is to be congratulated on their success as this is their first year in the Association. A junior handicap (mixed) was also played. .
