The same afternoon defendant placed some placards on a shed, but denied writing on the wall. He was a member of the Dunedin branch of the Council Against War and Fascism.
Defendant told the Court the placard was put up telling the crew of the campaign for Thaclmann’s release. He was a member of the international campaign for Thaclmarin’s release.
It was quite proper that there should be such a by-law said the'' Magistrate in inflicting a fine of 10s' and costs.
