CHILE’S PROPOSAL
NON-MEMBER STATES AND LEAGUE COVENANT QUESTION OF ITS REFORM (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) GENEVA, 17th December. At a League Reform Committee meeting Chile proposed that nonmember States should be consulted on the reform of the Covenant with a view to inducing them to join the League.
The Committee sympathises with the proposal but it is considered that the League must set its own house in order before inviting others to join.
BETTER APPLICATION OF COVENANT
(Received 18th December, 12.55 p.m.) GENEVA, 17th December.
The League Assembly’s Committee of Twenty-eight concluded the examination of proposals by various governments for the better application of the Covenant. It appointed seven repporteurs who will investigate suggestions and produce reports for discussion at the plenary session.
