REPRESENTATIVE MATCH NELSON TEAM SELECTED The first of the local representative lawn tennis matches will be played on Saturday next at the Nelson Club Courts when a team from the Motueka Association will meet Nelson Association players. The Nelson side will be:— Ladies: Misses J. O’Donnell, M. Prussing (Nelson), M. Nightingale (St. John’s), L. Gill (Wakapuaka), Vass (Tahuna), Mrs J. A'modeo (Nelson). Men: V. Mabin, B. Lee, J. Collis, G. Kirk (Nelson), D. Merritt and J. Strange (Hampden Street). The Motueka team will be strong on the men’s side but some of the lgdy players were not available. Play commences at 1.45 p.m. FEES RECEIVED FROM MOTUEKA Correspondence was received at a meeting of the Nelson Association from the Motueka Sub-Association remitting outstanding affiliation fees, fees. < It was decided to write off the remainder of fees outstanding and thus make the association financial up to date. A letter of thanks is to be sent to the association expressing appreciation of their efforts to clear the dafct at a time when their own financial position was not a strong one. The New Zealand championships commence on the 30th December at Timaru. Nelson will be represented by Mr and Mrs C. B. Beatson and B. O’Connor and Martin. Owing to the wetness of the season the players have not yet reached their best form but should give a good account of themselves.

Entries for the local tournament at New Year are now being accepted.
