APPLICATIONS FROM SEAMEN
FOR REGISTRATION AS UNEMPLOYED NOT TO BE ACCEPTED (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. Applications from seamen for registration as unemployed are to be declined for an undefined period, the Hon. H. T. Armstrong, Minister of Labour, stated to-day. The decision was taken as the result of reports of considerable difficulty in completing ships’ crews. Departmental officers have been instructed that any seaman seeking relief was to be referred to the shipping companies and others requiring the services of seamen,
