The Mayor (Mr G. L. Page) and the Town Clerk (Mr F. Mitchell) were appointed by' the Nelson City Council last evening to attend the annual Municipal Conference at Timaru from the 9th to the 12th March. They will also attend the New Zealand Municipal Electric Supply Association Conference at Timaru following the Municipal Conference.
Private C. J. A. Scarfe, of the Nelson St. John Ambulance Brigade, was farewelled last evening at a meeting of the Men’s Division. The Divisional Superintendent (Mr E. Ashton) in expressing appreciation of Mr Scarfe’s services, made a presentation on behalf of the members, and wished him every success in his new sphere of work. Mr Scarfe will enter the ministry in the New Year, having received an appointment in the Nelson Diocese.
