CANCER IN MIDDLE AGE GROUP
DECREASING IN ENGLAND REPORTING OF EARLY SYMPTOMS (British Official Wireless) (Received 18th December, 12.55 p.m.) LONDON, 17th December. Cancer, particularly in the middle age group in which it is so prevalent, is decreasing according to Dr F. H. Lacey, chairman of the Medical Board at the annual meeting of the Christie Hospital and the Radium Institute, Manchester. He states that the reporting of early symptoms by the public is improving slowly, but only among the most intelligent. The annual report states that the idea that admission to a cancer hospital means but a few months to live, is still too prevalent, and it is not substantiated by the known facts.
