THE WEATHER
STILL UNSETTLED Cloudy and unsettled weather is forecast, with rain developing, and becoming cooler to-morrow. The northerly wind . yesterday afternoon gave way to a southwesterly, with a consequent brightening of the weather, and the night was beautifully clear. The sunshine for the day amounted to 4 hours 40 minutes. The day broke birght and fresh, the air being decidedly cool, with a minimum temperature of 34.8 degrees. The sky gradually clouded over and became completely overcast, and a light breeze from the north-east. The barometer rose substantially during the night and the reading this morning was 29.75. The weather was somewhat brighter in the North Island this morning, but still dull in the South, although pressure had risen over the whole of the Dominion. Northerly winds prevailed.
