R.S.A. CONFERENCE

ELECTION OF OFFICERS HON. W PERRY, M.L.C. AGAIN PRESIDENT (United Press Association' WELLINGTON, 20th June. Officers to control the affairs of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association during the coming year were appointed before the annual conference of the association concluded yesterday, and the Hon. W. Perry, M.L.C., who has been president during the past year, was re-elected unopposed. In nominating Mr Perry, Mr B J Jacobs paid a tribute to the way in which he had filled, the office, and said that Mr Perry had the admiration and confidence of all returned soldiers and also the confidence of the Government and ethers with whom ho came in contact on association business. Mr Perry thanked the delegates for re-electing him and paid a tribute to the work of Major-General Sir Andrew Russell, K.C.8., K.C.M.G., who retired from the position of president a year ago. Other officers were elected as follows: —Dominion vice-president, Mr B. J. Jacobs (Palmerston North) district vice-presidents, Messrs S. P. Day (Auckland), R. F. Gambrill (Welling-to:i-Nelson-Marlborough) W. McClure (Canterbury-Westland), and A. McHutchon (Otago-Southland); Dominion honorary treasurer, Mr J. D. Harper; Dominion general committee, Messrs A. W. M. Ohlson (Auckland), J. Spence (Wellington), E. J. Erammall (Marlborough), E. F. -Willcox (Christchurch), O. L. Merens (Dunedin), and J. H. Irving Wairarapa); Dominion executive committee, Messrs J. D. Harper, C. W. Batten, A. T. Duncan, D. G. Munro, H. B. Burdekin, G. A. Hayden, G. T. Hall. J. I. Goldsmith, Lieut.-Colonel A. Cowles;.representative of the N.Z.E.F. Canteen and Regimental Trust Fund Board, Colonel M. Aldred; representative on War Pensions Board, Mr J. D. Harper; representatives on the Soldier’s Civil Re-establishment League, Messrs H. B. Burdekin, W. L. Comrie, J. I. Goldsmith, E. C. Hale, and G. A. Hayden; representatives on central committee, Flock House, Messrs B. J. Jacobs, A. T. Duncan, and A. E. Gorton.
