AUSTRALIAN TARIFFS
LATEST OFFER TO JAPAN r REGARDED AS INADEQUATE ■ I - (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 18th June, 8.35 a.m.) TOKIO, 17th June. Our attitude has already been clearly defined. Owing to Australia’s drastic measures we are obliged to protect our trade by invoking the law, but if the Australians return tq the status quo ante and are ready to talk on the same footing we are quite ready to talk to them.” ‘iy
