ACTIVITIES AT NGATIMOTI There war. a good attendance of members at the June meeting of the Ngatimoti Women’s Institute, Mrs Stevens presiding. Invitations to three Institute birthday parties had been received and accepted during the month. Mrs Barrow undertook to knitt Peggy squares for a quilt, members 1o supply wool. The roil call, “Uses for Vinegar,” was well responded to. There was also a good entry for the preserved
fruit. Mrs D. Llewellin’s bottled raspberries were judged the best, and Miss D. Stratford’s apricots second. It • was decided to collect used postage stamps for the benefit of St. Andrew's Orphanage, Miss Burrell offering to take charge of them. A visit from Mrs Lorimer of Stoke, who gave a most interesting talk on life in India, was much appreciated, and was listened to with great interest by all present. Mrs Stevens voiced the thanks of members to Mrs Lorimer for her kindness in coming a long journey to talk to a small Institute. A cheerful fire and refreshing cup of tea was much enjoyed, the hostesses being Mrs and Miss Stratford. ’ j
