MOTOR TRAFFIC

REGULATIONS AND INSPECTION TO BE NATIONALISED EARLY INTRODUCTION OF LEGISLATION (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Nationalisation of traffic regulations and traffic inspection are two of the major provisions of the Motor Vehicles Bill which the Minister of Transport, the Hon. R. Semple hopes to be able to bring down before Parliament adjourns for the short winter recess. The Minister stated in an interview that it was essential to have the measure introduced as early as possible as it dovetailed into the Transport Licensing Amendment Bill now before the House. Mr Semple said that the Bill would provide for a nationalised system of traffic inspection and a nationalised schedule of traffic laws which would apply all over the', Dominion. There would be one set of bylaws operating from the North Cape to the Bluff. Every driver with a license would receive a copy and it would be seen that he understood them. No matter in what part of the Dominion the motorist happened to be he would know the regulations he had to obey.
