DAIRY PRODUCE The markets for dairy produce in London are steady, according to the weekly cabled report received on Saturday by the Dairy Board. New Zealand butter has risen 3s to 4s a cwt wholesale and, although the retail price remains unchanged at lid a lb, it is expected to be increased to Is next week. Cheese quotations are unchanged. Wholesale prices for butter are:— New Zealand, salted, 97s to 98s a cwt (which equals approximately 11.44 d a lb, f.0.b.), compared with 93s to 95s last week and 79s to 81s a year ago; unsalted, 98g; Australian, 965; Danish, spot, 108 s. Australian and New Zealand butter in store amounts to 8752 tons, compared with 16,180 tons at the corresponding period last year. Cheese quotations are : —New Zealand, white, 57s 6d to 58s a cwt, which equals approximately 6.38 d a lb, f.0.b., compared with 43s to 43s 6d a year ago ; coloured, 55s 6d ; Canadian, white, 64s to 66s ; coloured, 655; English factory cheese, 50s to 545.

MINIMUM F. 0.8. PRICES Tile Dairy Board has fixed the minimum f.o.b. prices until further notice at Is a lb (equivalent to 96s 8d a cwt c.i.f.e.) for butter and 6d (51s 6d) for cheese. There was a keen demand for inferior and damaged grades, which sold much on a par with last sale’s rates, but in sympathy with the slight easing in wool values, full wools were generally about J,d lower.
