BRITISH BUDGET LEAKAGE
A correspondent writes: Mr Leslie Thomas, whose name lias frequently occurred in the Budget Leakage enquiry was the National Government candidate in November for the Leek Division of Staffordshire. He had been chosen by the co-ordination party as successor to the National Government (Con.) sitting member. At the election, however, a previous Labour member, V m Bromfield, regained the seat for Labour with a majority of over 6000 votes. One report released for overseas during the campaign re Leslie Thomas's activities stated that he was “meeting his constituents over the top of a glass.’’ So Leslie, being rejected by Leek in November, In May, of leakage from Cabinet seeks a defender.
