CO-OPERATIVE BUILDING SOCIETY

NO. 2 GROUP BEING FORMED No. 1 group of the Nelson Co-opera-tive Building Society, which commenced operations four and a half years ago, has been so successful that the Directors have decided that a second group should be formed, and active steps are being taken to obtain members. Free of interest loans, which members of the Society can obtain, are a great help and the repayments of these loans are spread over a long period. Added to this is the benefit of tiie compulsory saving in share money, which is repaid to members at the winding up of the group. Members who do not wish to wait for a ballot to get their loan may purchase one at an auction, usually at a low rate of interest. Starr-Bow-liett Building Societies first started in England over 100 years ago, and are in operation, not only throughout England, but in all the British Colonies, and millions of pounds, free of interest, are advanced annually to members of the various societies throughout the world.
