Concluding results on the first clay of the Soutli Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting were : South Canterbury Handicap, of £l5O ; one mile and a quarter.—l Argentic, 8.8 (18. MoCully), 1; 5 Polydora, 8.7, 2; 2 Trivet, B.Ch 3. All started. Won by a length, half a length. Time, 2.6 4-5. Early in the afternoon rain set in from the south-west, making conditions unpleasant. C-raigmore Hack Steeplechase Handicap, of £110; about two miles.—l Palm, 10.9 (E. Ridgway), 1; 5 Velvet, 9.9, 2; 3 Monastic, 10.6. 3. All started. Won by a neck, a length. Time 4min. Kiilgsdown Hack Handicap, of £100; one mile.—3 Willie Win, 7.11 (E. J. Ellis), 1; 6 Jack Ahoy, 7.4. 2; 8 Cape Gabo, 7.0, 3. Scratched: Ponty, Latitude, Colieenougue. Won by one and a half lengths, half a- length. Time, 1.44 3-5. Seadown .Handicap, of £110; six furlongs.—l Fairweather, 8.3, 1; 3 Silver Streak, 9.11, 2; 11 Capital, 7.5, 3. Also started : Queen of Song, Emissary, Lochloggan, Epi'is, Great Star, Half Note, Travenna. Dollar Prince, Metal Bird, Moneyless. Won by a short head. Time, 1.13 4-5. The totalisator handled £7258, against on the same day last year.
