QUEEN IN A RAGE
All Elizabethan £1 coin has been sold in London for £2O. Elizabethan designers, used to have difficulty in pleasing the Queen. A specimen portrait was submitted to her. It was described as a most faithful picture, hut old age was betrayed. Taking a pair of scissors, the infuriated Queen tried to cut the offending coin into pieces. Her rage was stronger than her fingers. The fragment of Die coin is now in the national collection.
