A LAMENTABLE DISPLAY BY AUSTIN AND MISS STAMMERS (United Press Association —By Electrio Telegraph— Copyright) (Received 21st May, 10.40 a.m.) PARIS, 20th May. The major upset in the first round of the French tennis championships, was the lamentable display of Austin and Miss Stammers, whom the young player Pelizza and Madame Gorednitohenko defeated 7-5, 6-2. Austin completely lost touch with Miss Stammers, and taking most of the burden, collapsed in the second sot.
