Danish 1 ißs per ewt; choicest salted New Zealand 83s and Australian the same price. Unsulted New Zealand, 84s to 85s. and Australian 83s to 84s. The cheese market is irregular. New Zealand white, 49s 6d to 50s, and coloured 51s to 525; Australian white, 48s 6d to 495; coloured, 49s 6d to 50s. SHIPMENTS OF MEAT The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board is advised by cable from its London office that the shipments from Australia, South America, and South Africa to the United Kingdom during the first half of March, 193(1, were as follows: Australia: Carcases mutton, 32,337; carcases lamb, 171.782; quarters beef (frozen), 15.204; quarters beef (chilled), 0914. South America: Carcases mutton, 3275; carcases lamb, 100,304; quarters beef (frozen), 1002; quarters beef (chilled), 222,400. South Africa (including Southern Rhodesia): Quarters beef (chilled), 1316.
The shipments from New Zealand to the United Kingdom for the iirst half of March were as follows: Carcases mutton, 130,327; carcases lamb, 090.845; quarters beef (frozen), 10,393; quarters beef (chilled), 9243.
