“CUTS” RESTORED
CHRISTCHURCH DRAINAGE BOARD WAIMAIRI COUNTY COUNCIL ' (United Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, 25th March. All salary and wage reductions are to bo restored to the staff of the Christchurch Drainage Board in accordance with a decision made at a meeting of the board. An amendment that the proposal be referred to the finance committee for a report was lost by five votes to three. The restoration will take effect from Ist April. A reduction of 10 per cent, in wages and salaries was made in 1933, and a partial restoration of 5 per cent, was made last year. The Waimairi County Council also decided to restore wage cuts at once. The council made a partial restoration 18 months ago.
