RECORD WOOL OFFERING
“A GOOD START” AT AUCKLAND (United Press Association) AUCKLAND, This Day. “A good start” was the general verdict of experts when the first catalogue of the Auckland’s big wool sale had been sold. In a catalogue of 7900 bales only 200 were unsold. The total of 32.00 U bales is larger than any previous offering. One firm (Dalgety’s) had over a thousand bales, easily the largest individual catalogue ever made in Auckland province. The bench of buyers represented every important wool consuming country in the world. The first lot offered by the Farmers’ Auctioneering Companv. six bales of crossbred ewe wool from Wallace, 'i’e Awamntu, brought 7jjd. Bidding continued fairly, keen but them was an absence of frantic excitement. Bradford was the dominant factor in the bidding. Apparently threequarters of the first catalogue is going to Yorkshire.
