Sir James A. Cooper was a director of the Lancashire Cotton Corporation Ltd., a director of .Vickers-Armstrong Ltd.; director of the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber Co. (Great Britain) Ltd.; chairman of the Loudon Boards of Australian Dried Fruits Export Board and. the Australian Canned Fruits Export Board, a director of the London boards of the Western Assurance Company, and British American Assurance Company, chairman of Allied Investors Fixed Trusts, Ltd., and Trust of Insurance Shares, Ltd. In his earlier years Sir James practised as an auditor and accountant in Dublin. He was in charge of Raw Materials Finance at the War Office from 191' to 1919, and director of Raw Materials Finance at the Ministry of Munitions from 1919 to 1921.
