The death occurred suddenly at Parliament Buildings. Wellington, yesterday of Mr John Godfrey Cook, wool instructor of the Department of Agriculture, at die age of 59 years. The deceased joined the Department as wool instructor in April, 1920, having acquired in private work a wide experience of wool and its grading and classing. He was a man of exceptionally genial disposition, and was well liked and respected by till with whom he came in contact. He was a Boer War veteran, having left New Zealand for South Africa with the first contingent. He is survived by a widow, two sons, and two daughters, of whom the youngest is If) years of age.

The Rev. and Mis' R. T. Dodds, of South Dunedin, and formerly of Tasman, were visitors to Tasman during the past week as the guests of Air and Mrs D. Haining.
