MOTHER BEFORE COURT GUILTY TO MAKING FALSE STATEMENT <Bv Telegraph— Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, 27th January. _ The mother of the child found in a city shop last month, Delia Rabbitt, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court today. She was charged that at Dunedin. in registering the birth of Gordon Nathaniel Brown, she made a false statement in tlie register book of births, namely, that she was married at Invercargill on 28th September, 1932 to Nathaniel William Brown and that her name was Dulcie Brown and lier maiden name McDonald.

•Nathaniel William Brown, an engineer and well borer, said that he was a married man separated from his wife. He IThd known the accused for four or five years. He knew that she had two children. The information in the birth certificate in .which lie was given as the husband of accused was untrue.

The accused pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence. Bail was allowed and she was ordered to remain at the Mount Magdala Home.
