MOTUEKA HARBOUR BOARD

VACANCY CAUSED BY RESIGNATION COUNTY COUNCIL APPOINTS COUNCILLOR 11. EVERETT Councillor Horatio Everett was today appointed by the Waimea County Council as a member of the Motueka Harbour Board to fill the extraordinary vacancy caused by the recent resignation of Mr F. C. Greenwood. When the Harbour Board’s letter advising the position was received at the Council meeting the chairman (Councillor .T. Corder) said it was the usual practice to appoint the candidate who received the next highest number of votes at the election to the elected candidates. That candidate was Councillor H. Everett, and the chairman moved that he he appointed to fill the position. Councillor Everett was an old. member of the Board having been a member since its inception up to (Tie time of hi.s recent illness. Tito motion was seconded by Councillor R. Toece and carried. Councillor Everett thanked the Council for the appointment.
