Rampling (England) failed to concede the winner 25 yards in the quarter mile, His time of 49 2-ssec was excellent under the conditions of a heavy track and a strong cross wind. Powell (England) won the half mile handicap from scratch in 2min 0 1 ssec, after conceding up to 38 yards. Murdoch, the remaining ineniber of the visiting combination, disappointed as a sprinter, running unplaced in his heat of the iOO yards handicap, and being unplaced in tile final of the 220 yards.
